Our standard adoption fee is $400, and we do ask that the adopter/s cover the costs of transportation to get the dog to their new forever home. (Our costs per dog are often MUCH higher than our adoption fee, which is why we are so very grateful for donations. Adopters are more than welcome to contribute a donation in addition to the adoption fee if you are so inclined, but please know that it is not a requirement.)
Prior to adoption, AKKNR dogs will have been vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, and spayed/neutered. They will have received any additional necessary vet care/treatments/medications/surgeries/etc. they may have required, and may have received professional behavioral and/or obedience training if needed.
Please note, that we average just a few dogs available per year. Some of our applicants may be waiting for quite some time for their new family member. We cannot possibly give an estimate of when there may be a dog available for you. Thank you for understanding!
Each volunteer must have the Volunteer Information Form on file. Additionally, please fill out any necessary forms such as the Foster Care Agreement or Transport Agreement.

If you are involved in a rescue, or know of one we are interested in contacting them to spread the word about the Alaskan Klee Kai breed. We are specifically looking for Northern Breed Rescues and Shelter information, but are willing to network with ALL Rescue Organizations. Thank you so much for your assistance!
